# Privacy · yokoten

> What yokoten.app records about a visit (a count with no personal data, and no cookies), and what the yokoten tool sends (nothing, unless you run a command that talks to GitHub or an AI model).

## In short

This site sets no cookies and has no accounts, forms or ads. It counts visits without anything that tells one person from another. The yokoten tool has no telemetry: it never reports how you use it.

## Cloudflare Web Analytics

The site runs on Cloudflare. Its pages load Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without storing anything on your device. What Cloudflare collects is in [its privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

## The site’s own visit count

When a page is served, the site’s code on Cloudflare writes one data point to Cloudflare Analytics Engine. It has six fields: the path (without the query), the origin of the site the link was on (such as `https://example.com`, never the page), a `?from=` tag if the link had one, the page’s language, the country Cloudflare sees the request from, and whether the browser name looks like a bot. It stores no IP address, no user agent, no cookie, and nothing that tells one person from another.

Like any web host, Cloudflare sees your IP address to deliver the page. The site’s code also keeps request logs in Cloudflare Workers Logs, used only to find errors; Cloudflare deletes them after a few days.

## On your device

The site keeps two choices in your browser’s localStorage: the language you picked and the theme (light, dark or the system’s). They never leave your browser. Nothing else is stored.

## No other tracking

There are no ads, no social media buttons, and no scripts or fonts from other sites besides the Cloudflare beacon. The promo video is served from this site.

## The yokoten tool

yokoten itself sends nothing about you or your use of it. The hooks, the commit check and `doctor` run on your computer, from the copy in `.yokoten/`, with no network. A few commands talk to other services, only when you run them and only with your own sign-in or key: `init` and a full `doctor` read your repository’s settings from GitHub through `gh`; `init --github` and `bot` change GitHub as you asked; and `adopt` can ask an AI model, with your own API key, sending short facts about the project and never file contents. Installing with `npx` downloads yokoten from npm.
